Stretch run

Only 1 month left in the Greatest Pool in the History of the World (2026 edition) and it’s shaping up to be a wild ride.

Captain GOP has been in the driver’s seat since week 3. Outside of Miami and Boise State his roster is very ordinary. Fortune has been his friend – Boise needed a late 4th quarter interception and TD to outlast Texas State in his double game, Notre Dame looms for his Hurricanes. (Balls out, boys?)

Beef sits in 2nd place despite losing his double game – Kent State getting upset by Sacramento. Nebraska is in their annual late-season fade taking a home loss to Washington.

Navin goes 4-2, both underdog starts with under-whelming efforts (UConn and Kansas). He sits in 3rd place, with Wake Forest’s trouncing of Virginia the best win.

Milburn goes 5-1, tripped up by Okie State’s shoot-out loss to Iowa State. Notre Dame gets by Navy in his doubler. Big points are up for grabs in South Bend Saturday night! (Balls out, boys?)

Champ clears the Group of Pizza with a 6-0 week. Iowa gets a shutout over Sconny- NDSU and Duke get defensive points. Indiana survives a Gopher scare, winning his double game in OT.

In the GOP:

Wile E. sports a very curious line – He has the 2nd-best Win-Loss record in the pool, and is a respectable .500 vs. the spread. 3 double losses have been his achilles heel. Liberty gets a 2X win. UCF laid a massive egg vs. Baylor for his lone loss.

Sergio had a box-office disaster. Known for directing fantastic explosion scenes, this one was a doozy. Ohio State looks bad in his double game – a rain-soaked loss in the Coliseum. James Madison, SMU, and Army also lose. A single-digit week drops him all the way to 7th place.

Igor climbs out of the cellar (as he occasionally does). MTSU’s early-week loss was the only blemish this week. The Ducks bounce back beating upstart Northwestern, ECU gets a bonus defensive point.

Johnson slips to 9th this week – Oklahoma gets blasted at home by Beamer-ball, Florida State loses the “Fire the Losing Coach Bowl” to Clemson. Georgia posts the best win of the week, a ranked, cover, defensive point, double win over Florida good for 20 of his 27 points.
