Week 11

Screen Shot 2017-11-13 at 7.54.02 AM.png

Snuffy took a loss! OK, it was against himself and he did get a win out of Miami in that game. But he did take a loss, his first since week 7. His lead is 100+, the champagne is on ice.

Daggett wins the week, going 6-0, scoring 56 points. Sconny continues to be money in the double game bank. Underdogs Army and C Michigan got upset wins.

Up and down the standings goes PJ, from 1st to 2nd to 7th and now back to 2nd again. OU scores 22 in his double game, his only loss this week was Va Tech.

Knut drops to 3rd with a pool-low 21 points. UTSA, FlaInt, and Ark State all lose. I know, hard to imagine those three powerhouses all losing in the same week.

Sitting smack bad(sic) in the middle of the crowd of mediocrity is Negatron. His underdog “W’s” Wake and West Virginia win, his favorite Washington loses. His Vols also get throttled by Mizzou, putting Butch in the breadline.

Ringo is the best of the worst in 5th, TCU drops his double game against OU. Pitt also loses as a 10 point favorite to UNC.

In 6th, Stumpy Pete also loses his double game, Georgia getting whacked at Auburn. Tough Saturday for our Husker brothers getting humiliated by Goldy and both dropping their doubler.

The #1 pick next year is Gundy’s to lose. E Michigan and Vandy take losses, Florida State loses its 6th game of the year. 6th.

Week 10

Screen Shot 2017-11-05 at 9.12.01 AM.png

That was quite the playoff weekend in FBS football. The Big10 sees their two biggest national championship contenders go down. The Big12 Playoffs were great and continue next week with OU facing TCU. Miami moves on and advances to host the Irish. Washington is sneaking in through the back door (maybe).

On the other hand, our pool has all the drama of the FCS playoffs when Fargo is a host for 4 rounds.

Snuffy continues to lap the field. Another 6-0 week, he posts a pool-high 47 points. Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, UCF, Toledo…it’s a juggernaut. After 10 weeks, he leads by nearly 100 points.

Negatron and PJ go 5-1 and score 44 this week. Texas Tech lost in OT for Negatron, his Mountaineers knock off ranked Iowa State and Washington dusts the Quack. PJ’s lone loss was Va Tech at Miami, but he gets a big 22 point win out of Boomer in his double game.

Everyone else goes 4-2 this week.

Knut remains in 2nd place despite a pool-low 15 points for the week. Penn State loses his double game and UTSA manages only a TD vs. FlaInt.

Ohio State and So Alabama were losers for Ringo, he gets 20 from SDSU in his double game.

Stumpy managed 23 points for the week with the 2 teams from the CFB Trip playing a big role. Army shuts out his Zoomies for a -4 loss and Temple beats his Middies.

Gundy and Daggett are in a dead heat for last place. Ga Tech and App State took losses for Gundy and La Tech and Kentucky were losers for Daggett.

Week 9

No Alabama. No problem. Snuffy’s Tide enjoyed a week off prior to the stretch run. He weathered that with the only 6-0 week in the pool in Week 9. He goes 4-1 vs. the spread, doubling UCF over FCS weakling Austin Peay. He’s afraid of his own shadow but headed for his first pool championship in the modern era.

Penn State chokes away a win in Columbus for Knut, but he still wins the week with 55 points and jumps into 2nd place. After week 7’s debacle with 6 points, Knut’s rallied led by an unlikely crew, Arkansas St, UTSA, Akron, Wyoming. The beauty of the pool.

Ringo falls to 3rd with a 3-3 week, including a double loss by TCU to the dragon-slaying Cyclones. Marshall and Fresno State both take home losses.

The road was kind to Stumpy Pete with 5 wins including his beloved Hooskies besting the perennial powerhouse Purdue. Okie State tunes up for Bedlam and the Dawgs put the Gators out of their misery in his double game. He sits in 4th, the worst of the best.

Negatron and PJ are tied for 5th place. scoring 33 and 34 points this week. 10.5 point favorites USF and Colorado St. both lose at home for Negatron. So. Miss (13.5 pt fave) was PJ’s loss, along with 4 non-covers.

Gundy posts a new season-low with 5 points for the week. Florida State (#3 pick overall) lost it’s 5th game, making it the worst first round pick in the history of the pool. Add 0-6 vs. the spread and losses by Wash. App. and NC States.  A nickname change is in order, but any change would be an upgrade from Gundy. Which is not deserved.

Daggett retains the number one pick in the 2018 draft but his lead is tenuous. He goes 5-1 with another loss by the confusing continued Coastal Carolina in his starting 6.

Heading to week 10 and Snuffy has the all-time record of 596 points in sight.

Week 8

IMG_4367

It was College Football Trip Week for Snuffy, Ringo, Negatron, Stumpy Pete, and Gundy. The Army Black Knights scored a game-tying TD with :01 left in the game and capped it off with an overtime win over Temple on a perfect day for football at Michie Stadium.

IMG_4362

Daggett claimed the win (no cover) from Army, one of 4 on the week. Virginia and BYU were losers, he scores a pool-low 24 points and takes a 32 point lead for the #1 pick in the 2018 draft.

It’s a broken record, but Snuffy wins the week – again. 6-0, 5-1 vs. the spread. He’s an amazing 17 games over .500 against the spread for the year, leads the pool with 126 double game points, and is running away with this thing. His lead is 61 points.

IMG_4351

Ringo sits in 2nd after a 4-2 week. Utah and San Diego State took late Saturday losses – he scores 40 for the week.

3 points behind Ringo is Knut, who posted 55 this week led by Penn State and Auburn with big wins.

Negatron sits in 4th, scratching out 27 points with losses by Texas Tech and Duke.

PJ goes 6-0 and sits tied with Gundy (5-1) for 5th, one point behind Negatron.

Just 3 more back is Stumpy Pete in 7th place. USC (Ugh) and Navy were losers and Okie State barely survived his double game.

Week 7

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=67&v=KKkOXlZSZRk

The tune changed this week for our defending champion. Clemson starts the week off with a loss at Syracuse. UTSA gets beat at home by the Mean Green. Auburn loses at LSU in his double game. Western Michigan gets rained out on Saturday, so the agony continued until Sunday when Akron finally put this lineup out of its misery. 6 points for the week. Sounds like a country song, so welcome to the pool….

Screen Shot 2017-10-16 at 7.33.08 AM.png

Knut.

Knut out-crapped Negatron and Stumpy Pete, scoring 14 and 18 points respectively. Negatron lost his double game with Washington’s loss at ASU. Houston also got blitzed at home giving up 45 to Tulsa.

Louisville and Temple were home losers for Stumpy Pete. Georgia posts a meager 8 points in his double game.

Snuffy is the clear-cut man to beat the rest of the year. He wins the week again with 47 points – Bama puts up 18 in his double game, road wins from Toledo and La Laff. Miami OH was his only loss – his other Miami team avoided the Wreck.

Ringo moves to second place despite losses by Florida and San Diego State. TCU posts 20 in his double game. Marshall gets a 9 point win over ODU and Ohio State embarrasses his Huskers with a road-shellacking.

Gundy, PJ, and Daggett were all 5-1. Washington State thought their game was Saturday for Gundy – the hangover for Troy was too much for PJ – and Daggett’s Gophers 4th quarter onslaught was too little, too late.

Snuffy, Ringo, Negatron, Stumpy Pete, and Gundy will be on the campus of the 5-2 Army Black Knights Saturday as they welcome the Temple Owls. God bless the United States of America and God Bless the College Football Pool.

Week 6

Screen Shot 2017-10-08 at 9.57.13 AM

Sooooo….This is what the college football pool looks like? It was so easy the first month. I even kept my #1 pick on the bench at Ohio State. Who wouldn’t? Just too darn risky. It cost me 24 points but I was still rowing right along – being epic!  Well, Jeezo Beezo, that happened fast. Mother Nature took a win from me in Ann Arbor this week, Tulane scored 62, and I told you that #1 wasn’t worth a damn. My whole lineup only scored a single TD, 7 points – and that just won’t get it done. From dwelling in a cell, to a cellar-dweller, That’s what I am now. PJ.

6 guys post 5-1 records this week, Negatron leading the way with 50 points. His only non-cover was Hawaii, losing at Nevada.

Ringo was a close 2nd, K State was his lone loss in OT vs. the hated Horns.

Stumpy Pete hits the century mark in double games but Thursday night vexed him again with Louisville’s loss to NC State.

Daggett scores 42 for the week, 6-0 in double games and still in last place – strange indeed.

Klaus gets 20 out of Penn State in his double game, but Clemson and Auburn didn’t cover.

Snuffy scores the least out of the bunch, Bama only posts 10 in his double win. Miami OH loses as a 2TD favorite.

Gundy loses 2 more this week, Ohio and Idaho both lose at home as big favorites.

Screen Shot 2017-10-09 at 7.22.00 AM.png

Week 5

As always, the pool mirrors the season in college football as the contenders and pretenders are separating.

Snuffy posts the first 60+ point total of the year going 6-0, 6-0 vs. the spread, picking up defensive bonus road wins out of Texas and Miami on Thursday and Friday. Of course the Tide leads the way but he’s got the best overall record and is significantly the best vs. the odds makers this year.

Klaus, Ringo, and Gundy were all 6-0 for the week. Klaus is led by Penn State and Clemson and sits in 2nd – Ringo got 22 out of Ohio State in his double game and jumps into the top half of the standings – Gundy gets his first W out of #1 pick FSU.

USC started the weekend off with a loss for Stumpy Pete, but he manages a solid 48 points including 20 from his beloved Huskers at Illinois. He is designing “Bring back Riley” apparel.

Negatron’s Creamin’ Deacons gave FSU a scare, but his Bayou Bengals have proven to be a toothless bunch. He sits in 3rd place, only 5 points ahead of 6th place OJ, who had an interesting week fielding one of the sorriest starting 6 in recent memory. Troy pulled off the upset, Va. Tech loses at home and So. Miss loses in his double match-up to the Mean Green.

Daggett is one angry beaver, hell-bent on fulfilling his prophecy of owning the #1 pick in next year’s draft. BYU and The Goophies lose – he goes 1-5 vs. the spread for a pool-low 19 point week.

Week 4

Week 4 generally signifies the end of the “preseason” in the college football pool. FCS opponents become a rarity rather than the norm in starting lineups. Playing the odds becomes more of a “make-or-break” emphasis for your weekly total. A month into this year’s college football pool and 3 teams are averaging 40+ points per week. It’s not the epically bad year (2012) when Gomer led with 172 points and Carl Spackler was in the cellar with 107 – but it’s pretty bad so far in 2017.

Snuffy wins the week and is back in the lead with a 45 point week. 22 of those points came from Roll Tide. La.Laff and Fla.Atl. (that has to be the first time they’ve ever started in someone’s lineup in the same week) both lost for Snuffy.

Negatron broke the 40 point mark, Houston dropping only his 2nd game all year. The double game was better to him this week, West Virginia posts 18 with its win over Rock Chalk.

OJ, Klaus, and Ringo were all 5-1 and scored in the 30’s this week. Ringo needed a Gator miracle, likewise Klaus in his double game with Penn State narrowly escaping Kinnick.

Daggett dropped 3 games this week scoring 28 points. Coastal Carolina loses for the 2nd straight week (why does he start them?), He was on the other side of the Gator win, and the offensive, abusive Chippewas lose at home to Miami OH.

Stumpy Pete managed a meager 17 points this week, the dreaded 4-2 and 0-6 vs. the spread. Okie State was exposed at home, Boise St. likewise vs. the Wahoos. He’s 3-13 vs. the spread for the year.

After a month, he’s 1-3 in double games for 0 points. Florida State, the #2 pick in this year’s draft loses at home to his own NC State Wolfpack. 2 losses, 2 games cancelled because of a beeotch named Irma. He made a compelling case in late August about why they were the better pick than his beloved Sooners and the college football Gods have properly put him in his place and cursed him. He needs to feel shame for his thoughts, words, and deeds. Daily. He shall with the nickname…

Week 3

Screen Shot 2017-09-18 at 8.58.42 AM.png

Which schools’ fan base is the most miserable in the country? According to USA Today’s Misery Index, it’s Nebraska. Stumpy Pete can attest, as the Huskers lose his first game of the season. At home. To a MAC school. He scores a pool-low 33 points this week, going 1-4 vs. the spread.

Misery loves company. Our other herk-jerk, Ringo loses his 2nd double game with K.State’s loss at Vandy. The 2018 Bama sweepstakes is getting crowded.

Negatron and Snuffy also posted sub-40 point totals for the week.Negatron is averaging 9.33 ppg in double wins, and LSU’s effort may be a bad portent.

The Runnin’ Rebs take the rare (-1) FCS loss at home for Snuffy.

3 teams cracked the 40 point plateau.

Daggett was “forced” to start Memphis, he chose to start Coastal Carolina and Western Kentucky, losers both.

OJ had UCLA which has chosen to forgo defense this year.

Bubba won his first double game of the year but Stanford loses it’s 2nd straight. His top 2 picks (FSU, Stanford) are a combined 1-4 this season.

Our defending champion turned it to 11 this week, rockin’ 52 points and the only 6-0 record. Penn State scored 20 in his double game, and UNC posts a road-cover win at ODU. He climbs into the top half of the standings. The march is on.

Week 2

Screen Shot 2017-09-11 at 8.52.22 AM

Welcome to CFBpool.com, the home of the greatest pool in the history of the world. Click around for the most current info on the College Football Pool.

Looks like a banner year for star QB’s in College Football. UCLA, Oklahoma, USC, Washington, Louisville (Oh yeah, the guy that has the trophy in hand) among the high-profile programs with big-time QB play in the first couple weeks.

Not a bad day for sophomore Jalen Hurts either, leading Bama and Snuffy to a 6-0 week. Hook ‘em Horns bounced back with a shutout win – he leads by a slim margin.

OJ would have remained in the lead but he left Boomer on the bench at OSU. The in-state rivalry game burned him this week in the heated battle of New Mexico for his only loss.

Stumpy Pete wins the week, the other Oklahoma team looks real good again, racking up 18 in his double game. The 1-2 punch of OSU and USC looks pretty good for Stumpy.

Negatron cruises to mediocrity, falling behind in the double point race. Colorado wins 37-3. And doesn’t cover. Washington and Tennessee get defensive points.

Klaus and Ringo go 5-1, Ringo losing his double game with the Buckeye loss, but moves up in the standings. Klaus’s Orange lose at home to Middle Tennessee.

Daggett posted a league-low 21 points this week losing 2, going 1-5 vs the spread and falls to 7th place. Baylor (16 point fave) loses to UTSA and WKU gets pounded by the Illini.

Bubba is setting new standards for futility, now 0-2 in double games after the Stanford loss to USC.

Murderer’s Row is pouring the hate to the Sisters sitting in the top 3 spots in the standings.
