End of an Era

College Football as it is today went out in style last weekend with the traditional Thanksgiving weekend feast of games. The Iron Bowl cut Auburn fans to (and through) the bone. The final Apple Cup will be discussed whenever talking about the once-great PAC12. Oklahoma fans were cheering for BYU. Iowa completed it’s strange season with yet another UNDER win beating Nebraska 13-10. And The Game cruelly dubbed it another lost season for The Ohio State and Ryan Day. Somewhere, Lou Holtz is chortling.

Points came fast and furious in the CFB Pool this week. Defending champ Bruce Dickinson led the way going 6-0 and 6-0 vs. the spread. Penn State shutout Michigan State in his double game. Arizona, WKU, and James Madison get road wins. He scores 63 points for the week, taking the lead with one week left.

Reggie also went 6-0, but 4-2 vs. the spread. His Big 2, Washington and Georgia didn’t cover leaving him with 49 points. He trails by 14 but has big points available next week with showdowns vs. ranked Oregon and Alabama to choose from.

Doorman sits in 3rd place with a 6-0 record, putting up 58 points for the week. Clemson scores 20 points in his double game. Road points from Memphis and Wisconsin. Okie State was his only non-cover win.

Operaman hits the high “C” scoring 56 points on 5 wins. South Alabama was his lone loss. Michigan gets 22 points in the huge win vs the Buckeyes. He locks in the lousiest of the best status in 4th place.

The best of the lousiest goes to EB Beaumont. Louisville and Kansas State take home losses. Alabama wins with no cover in his double game. He scores 24 for the week.

Artie Fufkin rolled the dice this weekend and came up snake eyes. Ohio State loses in his double game. Florida and Oregon State lose to their in-state rivals. A week-low 11 points was all he could muster. 6th place it is.

Ralph Malph scored 43 points this week. UCLA crapped the bed scoring 7 points in a loss to Cal. Ole Miss won the Egg Bowl but didn’t cover. Kind of a lost season for Ralph with Florida State and Texas on the roster. 3 words. Late Draft Depth.

And George Allen. Pretty sure the commish has spent more time thinking about his next name than he has on his picks this year. Iowa was his bright spot for the season? ECU and FAU lose this week. 29 points. 7 points higher than his weekly average.

Start one team next week (or not). Double points.
