Into the grinder now.

Week 4. The silly season settles down and everyone starts jumping into the weekly conference grind. Every game has some latent grudge, some recruiting angle, a message to be sent, some good ol’ fashioned hate brewed into it. Pretty much a guaranteed upset or two every week now. Time to avoid the landmines.

Reggie’s Gophers stepped on a live one in Evanston Saturday night for his first loss in the pool this year. It ruined a perfect week led by another big double cover win by Washington. Air Force and Kansas win and cover. He scores 40 for the week but drops from 3rd to 5th place.

Artie Fufkin’s ass got kicked the hardest this week. Texas Tech loses a WTF game to West Virginia and Oregon State comes up short at Wazzou. Syracuse gets a no-cover win over Army in his double game. A pool-low 25 points for week, he slides from 2nd to 6th.

EB Beaumont flip-flops with Artie going from 6th to 2nd. Bama gets a ranked, cover double win, the Ducks send the loudest message of the weekend to Colorado recruits- he’s a Nebraska cover away from the elusive 60 point week. He scores 59 points for the week.

Bruce Dickinson hangs on to lead with a 46 point week. LSU avoids the home upset vs. Arkansas in his double game, he goes 6-0 for the week.

Billy Ray hangs on to last place. So Miss and USF take losses. USC sleep walks through a no cover double win over ASU. He scores 30 for the week and is now 35 points out of 7th place.

Jimmy C sits in the 7th spot. So Alabama loses as a 15 point home favorite. Those sting. Miami sores 20 in his double game roughing up Temple in Philly.

Ralph Malph wins the biggest double game of the week – a Florida State OT thriller at Clemson. The 2nd game of his weekend parlay, Ole Miss, came up short (again) vs. the Evil Empire. He scores an impressive 49 for the week and sits in 3rd.

Doorman matches Ralph’s 49 points and remains tied with him for 3rd . He gets a 20 point double win out of Duke and defensive and road points out of Boomer Sooner at Cincy. Coastal Carolina was his only loss, a home Thursday nighter.
