The marathon of the 5-day weekend College Football Opener is over. And the Monday Night finale was worth watching – it may prove to be a big game as it dealt the pool’s lone double-loss.
Doorman (Dave) selected Clemson #5 in the draft- a spot ahead of Florida State, 2 spots before USC. And the Tigers came out of the gate very shaky – losing at perennial doormat Duke. Going into the game he was projected to be in the top 3 in the standings, after the loss he sits in 7th place – just 2 points ahead of…
Jimmy C. (Jon) Jimmy takes the marquee loss of the week, his TCU Horny Toads losing at home to the media darling-circus-road show. The new NCAA rules against cut-blocking chopped up Army’s offense in a loss at UL Monroe. JImmy’s tough days continue adding some salty lemonz to the Behind the Music of the CFB Pool legend.
On the top side of the standings sits our death-metal favorite Euronymous. As the Tide goes, so will Euronymous. Bama covers and gets defensive points in a routine Tuscaloosa rout of Middle Tennessee. His Ducks score 81 points against FCS Portland State.
The Bruce Dickinson is in 2nd place. A TD in the last 10 seconds by Penn State over West Virginia resulted in an 8 point swing on his double cover win. If they don’t score that TD he would be in 6th place today.
Reggie (BW) made contact this week banging out 6 wins. He needed a little help from the Huskers on Thursday night for his Ski-U-Mah win. Georgia and Washington look like a great 1-2 punch heading into the season.
Boston College lost at home to No Illinois for Ralph Malph’s lone loss. But Florida State gets the biggest win of the week – getting 6 ranked points and a cover with an emphatic crushing of LSU.
Billy Ray starts 6-0. Yes E – the season started, time to start paying attention. The Sisters are depending on you to beat your guy.
Artie Fufkin goes 6-0 getting defensive points from Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan State.

A sleepy week 2 on tap looking at the lines but you may want to keep an eye open for:
Nebraska @ Colorado – Can the Neon train stay on the tracks? 0-2 Huskers?
Texas @ Alabama – Is Texas back? Hated/Loved programs face-off.
Texas A&M @ Miami – The Jimbo project under the microscope in 2023.
Notre Dame @ NC State – Wolfpack ain’t Bama – but ain’t Navy either.
Utah @ Baylor – Dave Aranda loses at home to Tx State!? Hot seat alert!
